This Privacy Policy explains how WordleStat (“the Bot”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our Discord bot service.

By using the Bot, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Automatically Collected Data

When you use the Bot, we automatically collect:

  • Discord User ID: Your unique Discord identifier (a numeric string)
  • Wordle Scores: Your game scores extracted from Wordle result images you share
  • Wordle Numbers: The puzzle numbers associated with your scores
  • Message IDs: Discord message identifiers for data management
  • Channel IDs: Discord channel identifiers where results are posted
  • Server IDs: Discord server (guild) identifiers for data organization
  • Timestamps: When results were posted and recorded

2.2 Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect:

  • Message content beyond Wordle results
  • Private messages unless explicitly shared with the Bot
  • Personal information (real names, email addresses, etc.)
  • IP addresses or device information

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected data to:

  • Generate statistical leaderboards and rankings
  • Display your personal Wordle statistics
  • Track game history and performance over time
  • Enable comparison between players
  • Improve Bot functionality and accuracy
  • Sync data across multiple Discord channels

We do NOT use your data to:

  • Sell or share with third parties
  • Send marketing or promotional messages
  • Track you across other platforms
  • Create profiles for advertising

4. Data Retention

  • We retain your Wordle statistics indefinitely to maintain historical leaderboards
  • Data is only deleted upon explicit request (see section 7)
  • Inactive data (from servers that remove the Bot) may be retained for historical purposes

5. Data Sharing

5.1 Public Display

By using the Bot, you consent to your data being displayed:

  • In server leaderboards (visible to all server members)
  • In channel-specific rankings
  • With your Discord username attached

5.2 Third Party Sharing

We do NOT share your data with third parties except:

  • When required by law or legal process
  • To protect our rights or safety
  • With your explicit consent

We do NOT sell or rent your data to anyone.

6. Your Rights

6.1 Access

You can request a copy of all data associated with your discord user by:

6.2 Deletion

You may request deletion of your data by:

  • Contacting us at wilson@wilsoniumite.com
  • Clearly identifying your Discord User ID
  • Specifying what data you want deleted

6.3 Corrections

If you believe any data is inaccurate, contact us for corrections.

6.4 Opt-Out

To stop data collection:

  • Stop sharing Wordle results in channels where the Bot is active
  • Request the Bot be removed from your server (server admins only)
  • Request deletion of your existing data

7. Children’s Privacy

The Bot is not intended for users under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to Servers and Channels

8.1 Server Removal

If the Bot is removed from a server, data from that server is retained but no new data is collected.

8.2 Channel Deletion

Data from deleted channels is retained for historical purposes but no longer updated.

9. Discord Integration

This Bot uses Discord’s API and is subject to:

  • Discord’s Terms of Service
  • Discord’s Privacy Policy
  • Discord’s Developer Terms of Service

We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Discord Inc.

10. International Data Transfers

Data may be stored and processed in Sweden or other locations where our hosting provider operates. By using the Bot, you consent to this transfer.

11. Analytics and Monitoring

We may use analytics to:

  • Monitor Bot performance and uptime
  • Track command usage
  • Identify and fix bugs
  • Improve user experience

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Material changes will be communicated through:

  • The Bot’s /help command
  • Our website
  • Discord announcements (if applicable)
